Day 1 : Departure to Syapru Besi/Timure

Early morning departure from Kathmandu.

Drive to Syapru Besi/Timure.
(6-7 hours, 117 km, 2250m.)

Overnight in Syapru Besi or Timure.


Day 2 : Immigration process and acclimatization at Gyirong town

Drive to Rasuwagadhi border (1 hour approx.) 
After completing the immigration process at Nepal-China border, we will drive to Gyriong town (Tibet).
Drive to Gyirong town. (45 min approx. 2900m.)

Rest and acclimatize in Gyirong.

Overnight in Gyirong.


Day 3 : Saga
Drive to Saga. (4-5 hours, 375kms, 4500m.)

Rest and acclimatize in Saga.

Overnight in Saga.

Day 4 : Manasarovar
Drive to Manasarovar. (5-6 hours, 300km, 4558m.)

Overnight in Manasarovar.

 

Day 5 : Manasarovar and Darchen

Complete the necessary puja and rituals at Lake Manasarovar.

After Lunch, drive to Darchen. (1 hour, 35 km, 4600m.)

Overnight in Darchen.

 

Day 6 : Yam Dwar - Diraphuk / 1st day trek
Drive to Yam Dwar.
Kailash Outer Parikrama begins from Yam Dwar.
1st day trek to Diraphuk (12kms, 4890m.)

Overnight at a Guest House in Diraphuk.


Day 7 : Zuthulphuk / 2nd day trek

2nd day trek to Zhuthulphuk .(22kms, 4790m.)

Trek through Dolma La Pass, the highest point on the journey. (5610m)

Overnight at a Guest House in Zhuthulphuk.

 

Day 8 : Zuthulphuk-Saga / 3rd day trek

3rd day short trek to reach the designated point where vehicles are waiting (2 to 3 hours, 8 km). This completes the Kailash Outer Parikrama.

Drive to Saga. (5-6 hours, 365Km. 4500m.)

Overnight in Saga.


Day 9 : Gyirong Town

Drive to Gyirong. (4-5 hours, 375km - 3600m.)

Overnight in Gyirong.

 

Day 10 : Kathmandu

After breakfast, departure to Kathmandu. (7-8 hours, 150 km)

Kailash Overland Tour takes you to the holy land of Mt. Kailash through the newly opened Nepal-Tibet border of Rasuwagadhi-Kerung. The team of Yash Journeys Pvt.Ltd will embark on a journey to take you to worship and hike around the sacred land of Mt. Kailash.

Started on September 2017 as an alternative route for the Mount Kailash, this tour has made Mt. Kailash easily accessible from the outskirts of Nepal. We will cross the Nepal-Tibet border to arrive at Kerung. From Kerung, we will drive to the villages of Saga, Mansarovar and Darchen with great views of the sacred Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurla-Mandala, Rakshash Lake and the Lake Mansarovar. The major attractions of this tour include the sacred peak of Kailash, holy Lake of Mansarovar, Gauri Kunda and the highest pass of Dolma La.

The Kailash Overland Tour takes 10 days for completion based on our default itinerary. The best time to visit the holy Mt. Kailash is between May-August.
